A bee is being blamed for what could have been a tragic crash on River Drive that saw both occupants walk away after their Jeep struck a tree and overturned.“It could have been much worse,” said McMinnville Police Sgt. Marty Cantrell, noting the driver, Franco Patrick Moncarello, and passenger, Victoria Adams, both 18, were wearing seatbelts and emerged without serious injury. Both declined medical treatment at the scene. The accident happened just before 11 a.m. on River Drive, which is located off Morrison Street. According to Cantrell, Moncarello was heading west on River Drive when a bee got in the cabin of his Jeep.“He was so distracted by the bee he didn’t see where he was going,” Cantrell said, noting the driver left the road and traveled through the front yard of a residence. The Jeep struck a mailbox and then skinned a tree, bouncing off the tree and onto its side, coming to rest in a front yard.
