The Chamber of Commerce Leadership McMinnville Class of 2011 is busy making preparations for the group’s signature project, the 2011 Autumn Street Fair. This year’s fair will be held Saturday, Oct. 1 on Main Street and Court Square from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The popular event will feature crafts, food, activities and entertainment for the entire family. Events will include a Baby Show, live music, a Kids Corner for the youngsters with a number of inflatable features, craft demonstrations and many more.
Vendors looking for a booth space can apply online at, but space is already limited with just a few spots left, so those interested should apply as soon as possible.
The 14-member Leadership class is well on its way to putting the finishing touches on one of McMinnville and Warren County’s premiere annual events. Patsy Black, who is on the Baby Show committee, along with Christie Allison and Terrie Kirby, said the Baby Show promises to be one of the big draws.
“It’s going to be held from 10 a.m. to noon,” Black said. “There’s a $25 entry fee.” The age groups and categories are 6-11 months, 12-23 months, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years and twins. The entry fee for twins is also $25. Applications are available at Ashley’s Attic, Kathy’s Bridal, Sew Sweet Embroidery and Memories Bridal. Applications must be turned in at one of those businesses or mailed to the Chamber no later than September 23.
Scott Watson, who is over the entertainment committee, says this year’s Autumn Street Fair will feature the return several favorites but add a number of new faces, and talents, to the mix.
“On the Main Stage Kelly Walker will sing the national anthem to start off the day at 9 a.m.,” Wilson said. “Then Jubal’s Cry will take the stage, they’re a kind of  new country band. Then at 10 a.m. we’ll have the Baby Show, and at noon we’ll have Burning years, which is a local band. They’ve played at the VFW and came highly recommended.”
