Two years after lawmen raided the ranch of local businessman Sid Stanton, authorities returned in force again Thursday, seizing 21 animals from another one of his farms as he still awaits his day in court for the 2009 raid.Stanton, who remains released on bond while waiting for his 2009 charges to be decided, was hit with seven new counts of animal neglect from the Thursday morning raid. More charges could be pending after more medical tests on the confiscated animals. Scores of animal rescue volunteers from around the state, along with their trailers, lined Sparta Highway as authorities served a search warrant on Stanton’s ranch yesterday.
