Portion of nearby house also damaged

Police believe a pre-dawn fire that destroyed a truck and nearly sparked a house fire was intentionally set.
The fire happened on North Smith Street just after 5 a.m. Friday in the West Riverside area. Fire fighters responded to the fire call and found a Chevy truck on fire. They extinguished the blaze in short order but not before the Chevy was a total loss.
A nearby Ford Ranger also suffered damage as did the vinyl siding of the nearby house. Robert Holt is the victim in the case as it was both his home and his vehicles.
“There were things found at the scene that suggest it was arson,” said McMinnville Police detective Stuart Whitman, who did not reveal the exact nature of the evidence found at the scene. “We do have persons of interest in the case.”
