With its current vehicle “on its last leg,” Animal Control will be getting a new vehicle, according to a budget amendment passed by the Warren County Commission at its monthly meeting Monday night.
The new vehicle, a 2006 pickup with 35,000 miles, is being purchased from state surplus. Said Health and Welfare Committee chairman Michael Martin, “Anything from the state usually has low mileage.”
The truck comes at a price of $13,900. Of that, $5,000 will come from the Animal Control budget, with the balance being transferred from the judgments account.
First passed by the Health and Welfare Committee and then the Budget and Finance Committee, the full commission approved the purchase unanimously.
