The Warren County Historical Commission met for the last time Oct. 2 to officially dissolve itself. The commission had been inactive since its last recorded meeting in 2004.The original purpose of the historical commission had been to survey veterans and preserve their stories for future generations.Funds amounting to over $3,600 remained in the organization’s treasury for the past eight years under the Warren County Historical Commission name. Those funds have now been transferred to Heritage Alliance to pay for projects that will recognize and honor veterans.Heritage Alliance is a 501(c)3, nonprofit organization that acts as the chief preservation agent for the county.
