An infant nearly drowned in a backyard swimming pool Wednesday morning. He was airlifted and is expected to make a full recovery.

A family member said in a text to the Standard, “Prayers were answered!”

A call to 911 Dispatch was received at approximately 9:20 a.m. Wednesday. The 1-year-old male was reportedly pulled from a residential in-ground pool and was said to be unresponsive. The residence was on Tobitt Road, which is in the area of Centertown Recreational Park.

Emergency responders arrived.

“Patient is breathing at this time,” reported a first-responder to 911 dispatch. “Patient is unconscious, but breathing.”

Warren County EMS transported the child to Warren County Memorial Airport where LifeForce was slated to land. The infant was flown to Erlanger Children’s Hospital for treatment.

Centertown Fire Chief Phillip Prater reported the child’s condition at that time as “stable.”

Warren County Sheriff’s Department declined to offer any additional information due to the ongoing investigation.

“Not at this time. Not until an investigation is completed,” said Sheriff’s Major Jason Walker. “All I can say is that a 1-year-old was involved and was flown to Erlanger. He was breathing at the time he was flown out.”
