Woodbury stays on top of men's league
Mitchell-McCorkle-ShootingWEB
Mitchell McCorkle is ready to shoot a wide-open jumper for Morrison Industries during its matchup with Tiger Lily. McCorkle and Morrison Industries lost the game 61-58.

Thursday’s men’s league action at the Civic Center featured a battle between the two top teams in the league, team Woodbury (6-0) and Hagemeyer (4-2).
Team Woodbury has been on a roll, having a perfect record so far and this game was no different, as their record remained perfect, to extend their winning streak to seven. Both teams battled until the end, but Woodbury was too much down the stretch.
The game was close throughout the first quarter as Woodbury led 14-13 at the end of the first. Hagemeyer kept it close in the second quarter, but still trailed at the half 31-28. The teams were neck and neck, trading basket after basket in the third quarter, and at the end of three, Hagemeyer still had a chance only down 46-43.
Team Woodbury was too much down the stretch, as they pulled away from Hagemeyer and ultimately won the game 61-55 and continued their winning ways.
With the loss, Hagemeyer drops to 4-3 and in a third-place tie with Strawberry Inc. and Pinnacle. Woodbury pushes its record to 7-0. Both teams will be back in action next week at the Civic Center.
