In boys 6-8 baseball action Tuesday night, Womack Printing took on Custom Collision and was looking to keep its undefeated streak alive. Womack Printing cruised to a 13-3 victory, while scoring in every inning, including a six-run outburst in the third.
The win keeps Womack Printing securely in the top spot in the league as they have failed to have a blemish on their record so far.
John Gillespie led the way at the plate for Womack Printing, going 3-for-3 with three singles. Noel Davis. Kylan Jones and Cash Clayton added two hits apiece, while Braxton Gibbs, Corban Felton, Braeden Rich and Jaxson Rhea contributed a hit apiece.
In a losing effort, Kaden Jones led the way for Custom Collision at the plate, going 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Custom Collision got on the scoreboard quickly in the top of the first inning thanks to RBI singles from Korbyn Harris and Donavon Wellman, 2-0.
Womack Printing answered back in the bottom of the inning, scoring four runs to take the two-run lead. A 2-RBI single by Clayton, tied the game, 2-2. An RBI triple by Felton and an RBI single by Gibbs gave Womack Printing the lead, 4-2, after one.
Custom Collison’s bats went cold in the top of the second and Womack Printing extended its lead in the bottom of the inning, scoring three runs courtesy of a 2-RBI triple by Jones and an RBI double by Clayton, 7-2.
Custom Collison was able to cut into the Womack Printing lead in the top of the third, scoring a run on an RBI triple by Harris, 7-3.
Womack Printing put the game away in the bottom of the inning, scoring seven runs thanks to timely hitting and RBIs up and down the lineup. Womack Printing won courtesy of the run-rule, 13-3, to keep its undefeated streak alive in impressive fashion.
