In a classic pitching battle, Brent’s Computers shut out Bob Young’s Nursery 3-0 Monday night in continuing boys, ages 9-11, youth league season tournament action on Sam Martin Field.On the mound for Brent’s was Brody Womack, who pitched all four for the win. Womack had 11 strikeouts in the no-hitter and four walks.Alex van Vuuren threw for Bob Young’s, also with 11 strikeouts, one walk and giving up three hits.Both teams stayed scoreless until the bottom of the fourth, as Brent’s leadoff batter Trace Taylor connected for a double followed by a double by Womack and a single by Sam Rivers. All three base runners scored, with some strategic base running off the late-game hitting rally.With the win, Brent’s Computers secured a tournament final spot, and played the winner of the game one decider Tuesday night between the season champion Donald Hillis Realty team and Bob Young’s Nursery.
