In an election night matchup, the Warren County Middle School Pioneers trumped the Broncos, 49-16, Tuesday at Boyd Christian School.Doing what they do best, distributing the basketball, 10 Pioneer players posted points while keeping Boyd scoreless until late in the second quarter when Bronco Nathan Turner tickled the twine with a 3-pointer that left Boyd searching for an answer down 23-3 at the half.The Pioneers continued to take advantage of the green light on drives through lanes during the second half while big man Owen Clark pounded the boards with a game-high 14 points. Boyd’s best offense came after the break in the third quarter as Broncos Gage Harris and Jordan Perry got hot and Boyd had its best showing with 13 points. Playing a 2-3 zone, Warren County Middle School was content to keep the Broncos outside the paint for the fourth quarter, and despite a valiant effort the Broncos went scoreless as they couldn’t convert from outside.“We have to continue to execute,” said Warren County Middle School coach Isaiah Phillips.
