The Warren County Middle School volleyball team swept its pair of matches last week against White County and Algood to improve its season record to 8-3.The Lady Pioneers went the distance in each match, needing three sets to down White County on the road Thursday and to beat Algood at home Tuesday. Warren County was ecstatic to take away a win from White County, a place where the Lady Pioneers have always had a tough time winning. Warren County won the first set 25-23 behind Chloe Cassel’s serving and strong net play from Hope Mullican and Emily Mikkola, but White County battled back to win the second set 25-22.The Lady Pioneers got two kills each from Mikkola and Danielle Foster to pull off the road win with a 15-10 victory in the deciding set.Coach Farrah Griffith praised her team’s talking against White County as a reason for the win.“We talked well the entire match, which led to great movement and coverage,” said Griffith.
