WCMS tames Bulldogs

The Eastside Bulldogs played host to the undefeated Warren County Middle School boys Tuesday and were overwhelmed by the visiting Pioneers who stayed undefeated, handing Eastside a 43-20 loss.
Warren County Middle School (6-0), hit the gas early and stayed in the fast lane with scoring across the board. Wesley Sherrell and Kaden Rutledge were scoring leaders with 8 points apiece, with seven other Pioneers also adding to the total.
“We’ve still got to get better,” said WCMS coach Isaiah Phillips. “Every other team is getting better so we have to too. It’s the tournament that really matters.”
Easton West was the points leader for the Bulldogs with 7 points.
“The Middle School is a well-coached team,” said Eastside coach Mike Jones. “I can’t take anything away from them. They’re a good team. I give them a thumbs up, well played.”
Also scoring for Warren County Middle School were J.J. Jacobs with 7 points, Sawyer Seymour and Logan Earls both had 5 points, Evan Watts scored 4 points, and Grady Burnette, Owen Clark and Levi Melton all had 2 points apiece.
Additional players to hit the hoop for Eastside were Jonathan Pacina with 3 points, Jackson Thompson, Skyler Moore, and Brooks Dunlap all had 2 points, and Kylan Jones had 1 point.
Warren County Middle School played Bobby Ray and Eastside played host to Dibrell on Thursday. Results were not available at press time.
