WCMS takes second in CTC tourney

Carter Simpson hit the back end of two foul shots with 2.9 seconds left on Saturday to propel the WCMS Pioneers to the CTC Tournament championship game.

The foul shot gave the Pioneers a 28-27 win over Shelbyville Harris in a game that was tight from start to finish.

Keyton Reno was the top scorer for the Pioneers with 10, while Simpson added 9. The tournament was played at Franklin South.

It was tied 6-6 after the first quarter and it remained tied at 20-20 heading into the fourth. Reno hit a key 3-pointer in the fourth that proved to be the only field goal for the Pioneers in the final period.
