Carter Simpson hit the back end of two foul shots with 2.9 seconds left on Saturday to propel the WCMS Pioneers to the CTC Tournament championship game.
The foul shot gave the Pioneers a 28-27 win over Shelbyville Harris in a game that was tight from start to finish.
Keyton Reno was the top scorer for the Pioneers with 10, while Simpson added 9. The tournament was played at Franklin South.
It was tied 6-6 after the first quarter and it remained tied at 20-20 heading into the fourth. Reno hit a key 3-pointer in the fourth that proved to be the only field goal for the Pioneers in the final period.

The win propelled the Pioneers to the CTC Tournament championship game later in the day on Saturday.
That game didn’t go according to plan for WCMS as a relentless Tullahoma East squad earned a 46-12 victory.
Luke Simpson hit two 3-pointers for the Pioneers in the opening quarter, but that would be the WCMS highlight.

Five Pioneers received CTC all-conference honors. WCMS finished with a 10-2 record during the regular season and claimed the No. 1 tournament seed after winning a tiebreaker.
