While two Warren County Middle School spring sports programs are still trying to finalize their schedules, three teams are chomping at the bit to get started.The WCMS baseball and softball teams will begin their season tomorrow, while the boys soccer team will have to wait until Thursday to make their debut at Nunley Stadium.The track and tennis programs are still finalizing rosters and schedules, but should be in action by the start of April.The Pioneer baseball team will open up play at home tomorrow with a game against Tullahoma at 5:30 p.m. The WCMS baseball team plays its home games at Warren County Middle School.The Pioneers are hoping to make strides in the second season under coach David Martin. With eighth-graders Dylan Tubb and Will Lupo returning to lead a solid pitching staff, Warren County has high hopes when the team begins play in the Central Tennessee Conference.While the Pioneers are starting their season at WCMS, across town the Lady Pioneer softball team will also be getting its season underway.The Lady Pioneers play their home games at Warren County High School and will play host to DeKalb County tomorrow beginning at 5 p.m.The Lady Pioneers have had a strong preseason, winning games against Tullahoma and Coffee County in last week’s Lady Pioneer playday.With six returning starters from a team that finished third in the CTC tournament a season ago, coach Gooby Martin is hoping his team can make the leap to championship status this season.The Pioneer soccer team is switching venues this season and coach Matt Jackson has already changed his game plan to accommodate the move.After years of competing at Pistole Park, the Pioneers will call Nunley Stadium home this season. Warren County will get a chance to open up play with the longer field this season.The Pioneers play host to Webb Thursday with the match scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
