WCMS Lady Pioneer Sadie Simmons is a happy hitter here in the teams matchup against White County as the team decimated the Warriorettes, 15-1.

The WCMS Lady Pioneers played host to White County on Thursday and served up an extra helping of country girl beat down by sending the Warriorettes home with a 15-1 run-rule loss.
“That was a complete game.  We did everything right, all aspects of the game,” said WCMS Lady Pioneer head coach Marc Pyburn. “I love the arc we are on right now heading into the final part of the season and into the postseason.”
Lady Pioneer Rhaelee Johnson threw for 2.1 innings and dispatched Sparta 1-2-3 in the top of the first.
Warren County jumped to an early 5-run lead at the bottom of the inning. With runners on base, a fly ball by Samantha Jennings scored JuJu Pyburn, 1-0. A ground ball by Sadie Simmons scored Johnson, 2-0, and a triple by Kadence Ledbetter scored Jennings and Simmons, 4-0. Kaydee Rains grounded out and scored Ledbetter, ending the inning, 5-0.
White County scored its only run on a passed ball at the top of the second, 5-1, before the Lady Pioneer defense retired the side.
The Lady Pioneers jumped up 3 more runs in the bottom of the inning as White County walked Warren County’s first batter Taylor Swan who scored after a ground ball to left field by Pyburn, 6-1. Johnson doubled on a fly to second, scoring Pyburn who taged up, 7-1, and Johnson scored on a passed ball, 8-1.
With Sadie Simmons on the mound for the Lady Pioneers, the Warriorettes again went three and out as Warren County scored 7 runs in the bottom of the inning to cement the win, beginning with a Rains single to center field. Halo Armstrong batted in Rains, 9-1, and Armstrong and Swan scored from some sloppy defense by White County, 11-1.
Warren County collected 11 hits in total. Johnson went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lady Pioneers in hits and WCMS didn’t commit a single error in the field. Pyburn got 2 hits and Atterson, Simmons, Ledbetter, Rains, Armstrong and Swan had 1 run apiece.
The WCMS Lady Pioneers take a road trip Monday, April 17, to play North Middle. Game time is 5 p.m.
