The only way the Warren County Middle School football team could have gotten off to a better start to its season is if it was possible to hold teams to negative points.The Pioneers pitched a shutout in their opening game, beating the Franklin North Gators 16-0 Tuesday night at Nunley Stadium.Josh Macanas and Devin Jordan each scored on first-half touchdown runs and the defense did the rest as the Pioneers finally were able to get going this season. Warren County’s original opener was scheduled for last week, but Sequatchie County cancelled a week before the big game.Coach Donnie Harris was happy to see his defense dominate while the offense made enough big plays to win.“I’m proud of the defense and the way they played,” said Harris. “Offensively, we developed a good base.
