The Warren County Middle School girls tennis team captured its first win of the season Friday against Coffee County.
The Lady Pioneers used wins from Abby Graves, Addison Steakley and Ashlynn Graves in both singles and doubles competition to win, 5-1, at Milner Recreation Center.
The Pioneer boys team got a big doubles win from the combo of Aiden Campbell and Campbell Sutton for their lone victory. The Pioneer boys lost as a team to Coffee County, 6-1.
Both WCMS teams looked a little shaky in their season-opener Monday against Shelbyville. Veteran coach David Dunlap was determined to work out some of the rough spots in practice and it appears that effort paid off with some better play Friday.
