Despite a hard-fought home court battle, the Warren County Middle School Lady Pioneers continued on a four-game skid, losing 61-27 to visiting Franklin County North on Monday night.
“We played a great first quarter,” said Warren County Middle School coach Isaiah Phillips. “We had several bad possessions in a row. Turnovers and missed free throws are hurting us.”
The Lady Pioneers held their own until the second quarter, only trailing by 2 points, 15-13. That’s when NMS made its bid, and effectively shut down the Lady Pioneers offense giving up only 15 points for the rest of the game.
Leading the offense for Warren County Middle School was Taylor Swan with 7 points, followed closely by Madelyn Stubblefield and Nautica Brown with 6 points apiece.
Three Lady Gators made double digits with Summer Hill heading up the list having 17 points scored.
Also scoring for the Lady Pioneers were Kamryn Nowlin with 4 points and Elia Atterson and Kandence Ledbetter both scored 2 points apiece.
The Lady Pioneers travel to Tullahoma East for a rare daytime game on Monday, Dec. 12, at noon.
