WCMS girls earn second victory

After waiting over a month for their first win, the WCMS Lady Pioneers didn't take long to get a second.
Just a week after breaking an eight-game losing streak, Warren County improved to 2-11 with a 39-28 victory over Franklin South.

Katie Toney paced the Lady Pioneers with 12 points while Kyra Perkins scored a season-high 10 points to aid the Warren County win.

Bella Cantrell started the Lady Pioneers on the right foot, hitting a 3-pointer to start her team's scoring. Cantrell would add a clutch 3-pointer in the third quarter, when Warren County pulled away.

Mea Starkey added a consistent third option on offense, scoring 9 points. Marli McBride added two late free throws which helped seal the victory.

In boys action, the Pioneers were downed 50-20. The loss dropped the Warren County 7-8 grade boys team to 7-5 and snapped a three-game winning streak.

Caden Beaty led the Pioneers with 7 points, followed by Hudson O'Connor with 5, Chance Hunter with 4 and Layne Roberts and Trevor Wanamaker with 2 points each.
