Waiting has been the hardest part for the Warren County Middle School fall sports teams. The Lady Pioneer volleyball team finally got to get on the court last week, but the WCMS Pioneer football team found out recently it will be waiting even longer. On Thursday when the Lady Pioneers were picking up a win on the road at Grundy County – their second of the week – football coach Donnie Harris was receiving word his team’s home opener against Sequatchie County set for Tuesday has been cancelled.Sequatchie County had a scheduling conflict that forced the Indians to move a conference game to opening week, leaving the Pioneers without an opponent. Now Warren County will start its year Tuesday, Aug. 26 at home against Franklin North.Coach Harris and his team are itching to get on the field and get things started.“We’re ready to start hitting somebody else,” said Harris.
