The Warren County Middle School Lady Pioneers jumped to an early 2-0 lead when they played host to White County on Monday. The 2-0 lead turned into a 5-0 blanking of the Lady Warriors moving the Lady Pioneers to 5-2 in the conference.
“Our pitchers dominated all night long, and they got a few defensive plays to keep the no-hitter intact,” said WCMS Lady Pioneer head coach Marc Pyburn. “White County had a strong pitcher also, but we small balled them to death. We showed that we can win in multiple ways.”
“I feel we are finally hitting our stride as a team. The girls are cheering and yelling for each other all the time. I am so looking forward to the tournament so we can show a few doubters what this team is made of.”
The Lady Pioneers used a combination of pitchers to contain the Lady Warriors as Sadie Simmons and Rhealee Johnson combined for a no-hitter.
Garnering runs for Warren County were Bella Cantrell with 2 runs and Cadi Beth Todd, Danika Reno and Mia Hobbs all scored 1 run apiece.
The Lady Pioneers travel to Tullahoma to take on the Lady Wildcats on Friday, April 14, followed by a home game Saturday and another road gamr on Monday to North Middle. Games begin at 5 p.m.
