The Warren County High School wrestling team has hit the busiest part of its season and the increased workload hasn’t seemed to slow down the Pioneers.Wrestling its third meet in eight days, Warren County defeated Tullahoma on Tuesday night and held its own against state-power LaVergne.The Pioneers had a strong showing on the road last week as the team traveled to Franklin County and Forrest High School, but the team was happy to be home on Tuesday.The excitement of showing off at home seemed to be apparent early as Warren County dominated in its match against the Tullahoma Wildcats.Eli Moulton, Harlyi Turner, Christian Lopez, Joe Carroll and Heath Higgins each earned pinfall victories against the Wildcats and the Pioneers picked up three more wins by forfeit as Tullahoma couldn’t fill every weight class.Moulton, who has shown lots of promise in the 106-pound weight class, had to work into the second round to pick up the victory. Moulton was able to take top position and keep his opponent’s shoulders down just long enough to get the pin.Turner was dominant in his match against Tullahoma. The Pioneer freshman repeatedly slammed his opponent from a standing position, earning big points in the process.
WCHS wrestlers topple Tullahoma
