Despite the fact most of the Warren County sports teams have already completed as many as half of their District 6-AAA games, the Pioneers and Lady Pioneers all find themselves back where they started.All Warren County sport teams have a .500 mark in District 6-AAA play, same as the even 0-0 mark the teams started with to begin the season.The diamond Pioneers and Lady Pioneers are each at the halfway point of the district season and have matching 2-2 records.Thanks to a sweep of White County, the Warren County High School baseball team finds itself in third place with four games to go in district play.The Pioneers took a step back last week after dropping back-to-back games with Cookeville, but the baseball team has over a week of preparation before diving back into district play.The Warren County baseball team will play the Middle Tennessee Heat tomorrow at home, then will spend the weekend playing in the Franklin County tournament before visiting the Cumberland County Jets Monday, April 16.The Lady Pioneers fell to 2-2 in District 6-AAA with an 8-4 home loss to Cookeville Wednesday, then missed a chance to get back above .500 when Thursday’s game in White County was rained out. No make-up date has been set.Warren County will face its biggest challenge in district Tuesday night when the Coffee County Lady Raiders, who lead the district with a 4-0 record, visit McMinnville.The Lady Pioneers get a tune up tomorrow when the team plays host to Lincoln County in a day game in front of the student body. The game will begin at 1 p.m., while Tuesday’s contest against Coffee County starts at 7 p.m.Both tennis teams fell to 1-1 last week with losses to Cookeville.The Pioneer tennis team was stunned by the Cavaliers and with the new scheduling, Warren County may not have the time to battle back for its third straight District 6-AAA crown.Before the season at a district meeting, it was decided only one matchup between district teams will count to the overall record.
