The roster is set. Now coach Gooby Martin is ready for his Warren County High School girls softball team to play ball.The Lady Pioneers will feature 21 players in the spring, including seniors Liza Harvey and Sarah Knowles and an eight-player junior class that Martin coached to a CTC championship while at Warren County Middle School.Next year will be a new beginning for the WCHS program under Martin, who replaced David Upton following his resignation after 14 years with the Lady Pioneers. The coaching transition shouldn’t be too tough on the players though since most have played under Martin before.Martin spent the last five years at WCMS, where his teams claimed two CTC tournament titles and finished first in the regular season twice as well.
