A long weekend in the Rebel Classic for the Warren County High School soccer team was cut short, but not before the Pioneers picked up their fifth win this season.Warren County played two matches Saturday – which included a 2-1 victory over White County – before the team was forced to withdraw from the tournament being held in Franklin County before Sunday’s games.Coach Todd Willmore’s team was supposed to take part in a few more matches Sunday, but dwindling numbers left the coach no choice but to pull his Pioneers out of competition.“Unfortunately, we did not have enough available to participate Sunday and withdrew from the tournament after Saturday's matches,” said Willmore.Warren County (5-5) was able to make the most of its time in Franklin County though by picking up a big win in a District 6-AAA preview match. Behind two goals by junior Ethan Bandy, the Pioneers topped White County 2-1 Saturday afternoon. The win came after a 3-0 loss to West Creek in the team’s first game Saturday.Beating the Warriors was a big boost in confidence for the Pioneers, especially with a match set in White County only three days after the Rebel Classic.
