The Warren County High School JV football team couldn’t exact revenge against Shelbyville on Thursday night.Playing six days after their varsity teams met in Shelbyville, the Golden Eagle JV squad won in McMinnville, claiming a 24-6 victory at Nunley Stadium.Pioneer RB Xander Lee powered in the TD for the Pioneers after Warren County mounted an impressive fourth-quarter drive. Lee blasted the ball across the goal line from 2 yards out to make it an 18-6 game.“Clay Thompson is doing a nice job for us at quarterback and engineered a good fourth-quarter drive,” said WCHS coach Tom Moore. “Clay has really impressed me with the way he wants to be a good quarterback and he wants to be a good leader.”Moore says Warren County has seven JV games scheduled this year and the games are crucial for player development.“We have to get out there on the field in order to get better,” said Moore.
