The WCHS Lady Pioneer basketball team advanced to the district tournament semifinals and also earned a berth in the region with a 40-28 victory over Cookeville on Thursday night in Cumberland County. Bree Smith led the team in scoring with 18 points. The Lady Pioneers advance to play White County on Saturday at 6 p.m., also in Cumberland County.
