The Lady Pioneer high school volleyball team was home Tuesday night against Soddy Daisy. The match was scheduled to be a road game at Soddy Daisy, but because of COVID-19, Soddy Daisy was closed for cleaning. Therefore, the match was moved to the Charlie Dalton Gym in McMinnville.

Unfortunately, being at home did not help the Lady Pioneers. They lost all sets and matches to Soddy Daisy.

WCHS coach Erin Blalock said, “We have had a couple of tough weeks and tonight was no exception. We lost focus and hustle at times tonight and Soddy capitalized. They are a really solid team and we just couldn’t keep the drives going.”

Blalock continued, “Freshman and JV had some really bright spots in their matches. We had trouble finishing in those games, but the girls showed they can battle back from bigger deficits.”

The Lady Pioneers are in action again on Tuesday at home vs. Oakland.
