The Warren County High School baseball team started a best-of-three series Monday night in the district tournament semifinals when the Pioneers faced the Cookeville Cavaliers on the road. The Pioneers lost, 1-0, despite a gem Brooks Helton pitched on the mound, going six innings, allowing a run on two hits and striking out seven.The Pioneers needed to win game two at home Tuesday night or be eliminated from district tournament play. The Pioneers and Cavaliers battled it out and it remained a close game throughout.The Cavaliers were too much for the Pioneers in the final three innings, scoring four runs to win, 7-3, ending the Pioneers season.
