The Irving College 7-8 grade Tigers played host to Centertown on Thursday night and fell hard to the Warriors, 39-14.Centertown’s top gun Wyatt Wilson bore the brunt of the offense for the Warriors as his double-digit score did the most damage to the Tigers as Wilson hit for 14 points.Irving College’s offense didn’t get off to a great start and faced a 25-5 deficit at the half. The team gave it their best college try as Riley Wanamaker scored 6 points followed by Tiger Abram Stinson with 5 points.Irving College had a tough time breaking into the lane, as Wanamaker’s scores both came from outside the arc.Also scoring for the Tigers were Carson Campbell and Wesley Williamson each with 2 points.Other Warriors to wrangle more hoops were T.J. Howard and Jacob Scott both with 6 points, Hunter Jones 5, Jared Scruggs 4 and Austin Conner with 2 points.Neither teams fouled much with Irving College going 0-for-5 from the line and Centertown 2-for-4.Irving College will play host Morrison, while Centertown will travel to Boyd on Tuesday, Jan. 17.
