Centertown’s 7-8 grade Warriors played host to Boyd’s Broncos on Tuesday night and took a 42-28 basketball season-opening win.The combined offense of Westen Wilson and Wyatt Wilson, scoring 18 and 12 points respectively, was enough of a drive for the Warrior offense.“This was our first game of the season and we were really pleased how the offense moved the ball,” said Centertown Elementary School head coach Caleb Shehane. “We still have some areas that we are working to improve but overall I thought everyone played well.”Jumping out to a 32-11 halftime lead, Centertown left the Broncos in a deep hole. Boyd gave it a good shot, outscoring the Warriors 17-10 in the final half, but it wasn’t nearly enough to put a dent in the halftime deficit.Mark Mason broke double digits for Boyd’s total score, earning 15 points in the contest.
