The dream of a long postseason run for the Pioneers wasn’t just dashed Monday night. Soddy Daisy stomped it out and poured some salt in the wound.The Trojans pounded 15 hits and got a dominant performance by Christian Amos on the mound to end the Warren County High School baseball team’s season with a 12-2 loss Monday night in the regional semifinal game held at Patrick Ramsey Field.Warren County (17-22) felt the pain of a mercy-rule loss in the sixth inning only four days after celebrating a District 6-AAA title in Cookeville last Thursday. Any leftover momentum from that huge win seemed to vanish in the second inning of Monday’s game when Soddy Daisy scored six runs and Amos locked down the Pioneer bats.Coach Adam Childs decided to start junior Will Sweeton in hopes his submarine style would throw off the Soddy Daisy batters.
