Katie Toney and Bekah Jackson were presented with their all-state awards on Monday.

The WCHS soccer stars were named to the TSSAA All-State team in December after sparkling seasons for the Lady Pioneers.

WCHS Lady Pioneer coach Todd Willmore said, “Katie and Bekah are very deserving of this honor. I am very excited and proud of them. Katie and Bekah have spent countless hours developing their soccer skills and it certainly shows. They each have a desire and drive to improve, which inspires all those around them. Katie and Bekah are two outstanding young women who have a very bright future in both soccer and in life beyond soccer.”

It’s the third straight allstate selection for Toney, who finished her senior year with 37 goals and 17 assists. She was a big reason the WCHS girls finished 14-6 on the season and reached the region semifinals. Toney was named MVP of District 6AAA.

Toney finished her high school soccer career as the alltime leading scorer in WCHS Lady Pioneer soccer history with 113 career goals. She also added 57 career assists.

Said Toney, “I am really thankful for this recognition and I couldn’t be happier to share it with Bekah. And of course thanks to Todd for all of his help and guidance throughout the season.”

Toney has signed to play collegiately at Tennessee Tech.

Bekah Jackson is pretty good herself. A junior, Jackson finished with 26 goals and 9 assists this year. Jackson was named midfield MVP for District 6AAA. She is expected to be one of the major weapons for the Lady Pioneer attack in the fall.

“It’s an honor to get selected to be on the all-state team,” said Jackson. “I work hard and try to be the best player I can be and I am very grateful for this accomplishment.”

Both players were named first team All-Region 3AAA.
