Lady Pioneers win in walk-off style

Errors played a huge part in Monday’s Central Tennessee Conference game between Warren County Middle School and Coffee County Middle School. It was only fitting two miscues decided the game.Two throwing errors allowed Madison Mason to scamper home following a double to start the bottom of the fifth, scoring the game-winning run in a 7-6 victory for the Lady Pioneers.Warren County (10-1) suffered its only loss this season to Coffee County earlier this season, but Mason’s hustle and two errant throws allowed the Lady Pioneers to get revenge.Coffee County rallied back from a 6-3 deficit in the top of the fifth, but it only took one batter in the bottom of the inning to break the tie.Mason ripped a shot into left field and never slowed down while rounding first base. The Lady Pioneer shortstop slid into second base as the throw came in, but the ball sailed toward first base instead.Mason got back to her feet as coach Gooby Martin yelled for her to head to third.
