In girls 10-12 softball action at Hoover Millraney Field, the Southern Girls took on Team Evolution in a battle of two of the top teams in the league. Team Evolution ultimately won the game, 8-5, in a close battle.Team Evolution used a five-run outburst in the top of the third to claim the victory.Brooklyn Cope led Team Evolution at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two singles and an RBI. Jazlynn Ward, Regin Grissom and Savanna Duggin added a hit apiece for Team Evolution.Despite the loss, Dallis Melton led Southern Girls at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a triple, a double and four RBIs. Southern Girls got the scoring going in the top of the first.Southern Girls got on the board quickly in the top of the first thanks to Melton blasting a 2-RBI triple to the outfield, 2-0.An RBI single by Cope had team Evolution on the board, 2-1.
