The Warren County Middle School Pioneers played host to Franklin County South on Monday, handily defeating the Rebels 49-32 to remain undefeated.Leading the offense for the Pioneers (7-0) were C.J. Taylor and Kaden Jordan, both scoring 14 points, as Warren County jumped to a 28-18 halftime lead.The only spot where the Pioneers struggled was from the foul line, only shooting 30 percent making 8-of-27 from the charity stripe. Franklin County didn’t fare much better at 37 percent, shooting 6-of-16.“That’s an area we need to work on,” said WCMS coach Isaiah Phillips of foul shooting. “We just keep working on getting better all the time, and still have a lot of work to do.”Also scoring for the Pioneers were Chase Simmerly, Aiden Grissom and Tyler Taylor with 5 points each, and Dante Elam and Aiden Cummings added 3 points each.Leading up to Monday’s game, the Pioneers went on the road defeating Shelbyville Harris, 41-13.C.J. Taylor led the road crew offense with 11 points, Kaden Jordan and Aiden Cummings shot for 10 points apiece, Dante Elam 4 and C.J. Anthony and Chase Simerly each had 3 points.Warren County played the DeKalb County Saints on Nov. 18 for another win, 39-19.
