The records were thrown out the window Tuesday night in the boys 7-8 machine-pitch league as teams started play in the single-elimination tournament at Hoover and Millraney Field.Surviving and advancing was all that matters as six teams knew it was win or go home. Hillis Nursery, Stewart’s Pharmacy and O’Reilly all lived to play another day as the trio of teams were victorious Tuesday night.Hillis Nursery won 7-4 against Barr’s Furniture, Stewart’s Pharmacy defeated Little River Nursery 11-2 and O’Reilly came back to beat Southern Standard 6-5.Hillis Nursery entered the bottom of the fourth tied 4-4 against Barr’s Furniture, but the team started hitting and the time limit expired with the team still batting.Hudson O’Connor put the team up for good with an RBI double to score Bradley Holden. Levi Melton and Blaine Guilley added run-scoring singles as Hillis Nursery took a 7-4 lead as time ticked down.Barr’s Furniture nearly got back up to bat, but time expired before Barr’s Furniture had a chance to record the final out of the fourth inning.O’Connor, Melton and Reagan Woodlee led Hillis Nursery with two hits.
