For the second straight year, Warren County has an All-Star team that can call itself the top team in Tennessee.The 12-year-old Warren County All-Stars won the state championship Monday night in Franklin, defeating the Franklin Coyotes 10-5 in the title game.Warren County won its way into the state tournament by claiming a district title in Cookeville two weeks ago and the local team followed it up by getting the job done Monday against Franklin and Brentwood.Warren County beat Brentwood 5-3 in the tournament semifinals, then won by five in the championship over the host team.The 12-year-old All-Star team claimed the state championship a year after the 10-year-old All-Star team from Warren County won the state championship. Last year’s champions, now playing in the 11-year-old division, played for a state title last night in Cookeville. Scores weren’t available at press time.Tyler Prater earned the player of the game award in the championship as he had two hits and pitched the final three innings to pick up the victory.Warren County entered the final inning trailing 5-4, but a six-run rally clinched the win.
