Lady Elite Travel team
Warren County High School girls basketball coach Anthony Lippe and his staff are organizing the Lady Elite travel program for girls currently in grades 3-8 this summer. The program will be geared toward teaching the fundamentals each group needs at their current age level.
Tournaments are already planned from March until May in Manchester, Lebanon, McMinnville and Cookeville.
Lippe and his selected group of coaches will hold tryouts Saturday, Feb. 1 from 5-7 p.m. at Warren County High School. Grades 3-5 will try out in the auxiliary gym, while grades 6-8 will try out on the main floor.

McMinnville Youth soccer
McMinnville Youth Soccer registration will continue until Saturday, Feb. 8 and is open for ages 3-18 and adults. Sign-ups will be held at the Civic Center location at Three Star Mall during regular business hours and online at mcminnvilleyouthsoccer.com.
The cost is $40 for youth and $25 for adults. For more information, call 473-1212.
baseball and softball
McMinnville Youth Baseball and Softball will continue holding registration until Saturday, Feb. 22. Sign-ups are open to boys and girls ages 3 and up (grouped by their age on Jan. 1, 2020). The costs are: T-ball $40, coach pitch $50, kid pitch $50, and slow-pitch softball $40.

Viola valley half marathon
The ninth annual Viola Valley Half Marathon will take place Saturday, May 9.
Runners can currently register to run at violavalleyhalfmarathon.com or reg2run.com.
Early packet pickup for the race will be Friday, May 8 from 2-7 p.m. Race-day pickup will begin at 5:30 a.m.
This year, an accompanying 5K race will also take place. Walkers are also welcome to participate.
The Viola Valley Half Marathon and 5K have joined the Run the Cumberlands medal series as well. Any runner who completes at least four races in the series, including at least one half marathon or full marathon (non-relay) will be awarded a special Run the Cumberland Medal. An informational meeting will be held Thursday, Jan. 30 for any player interested in playing for the WCMS tennis team. The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the WCMS cafeteria. The team is open to any boy or girl in grades 6-8 in the county.

The WCMS track team will begin conditioning Tuesday, Jan. 28 and continue on Wednesday and Thursday this week. The team will condition from 3-4:30 p.m. at Warren County Middle School.
Conditioning is open to any boy or girl in grades 6-8 in the county school system interested in participating on this year's WCMS track team.

McMinnville Special Games has partnered with the community to set up a month of basketball games in February. The matchups will feature the McMinnville Special Games teams playing the McMinnville Fire Department (Feb. 8), the Warren County Sheriff's Department (Feb. 15), MES and Caney Fork linemen (Feb. 22) and McMinnville CrossFit (Feb. 29).
All games will be played at Charlie Dalton Gym and will begin at 10 a.m.
No admission will be charged, but donations are welcomed. Concessions will be available on gamedays.
Players will be provided a game shirt, but will need to wear shorts and tennis shoes to play. Practices are scheduled on Tuesday, Jan. 29 from 6-7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1 at 9-10 a.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 11 from 6-7 p.m. at WCHS.
