WCMS GIRLS AND BOYS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS
For any current or upcoming middle school boy or girl who is interested in trying out for WCMS basketball for the 2016-17 season, tryouts will be on these dates: girls 6th grade, May 9, 3:30-4:45 p.m.; boys 6th grade, May 9, 5-6:15 p.m.; girls 7-8 grade, May 12, 3:15-4:30 p.m. (must be zoned for WCMS); boys 7-8 grade, May 10, 3:15-4:30 p.m. (must be zoned for WCMS). All tryouts will take place at WCMS. Must bring pre-participation form.
WCMS GIRLS SOCCER TRYOUTS
For any 6-8 grade girl interested in playing soccer, tryouts for the WCMS soccer team will be May 16-19 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at WCMS. Must bring pre-participation form.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL CAMP
AND TRYOUTS
There will be a girls volleyball clinic May 16-19 in the WCHS gymnasium. Grades 5-11 are welcome and the camp will last from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Cost of the clinic is $30 and includes a T-shirt. Also, tryouts for the WCMS volleyball team will be May 23 at WCMS from 3:30-4:30 p.m. for any 6-8 grade girl who is interested. Must bring pre-participation form.
5K COLOR RUN
There will be a 5K Color Run May 21 at the Civic Center. All proceed from the run will be used to help service recipients at the Generations Homes of Campbell Lodge, Wood House and Magnolia Wilma. The race starts at 7:30 a.m. in the back of the Civic Center parking lot. Arrive no later than 7 a.m. to check in. Any person of any fitness level or age may enter. The cost is $25, which includes a T-shirt (if registered before the deadline), bottled water and 2 paint packets to throw on each other at the end of the run party. 2016-2017 WCMS BASEBALL TRYOUTS
The Warren County Middle School baseball team signups will be held for any upcoming seventh and eighth graders on Thursday May 19 from 6-8 p.m. at the WCMS baseball locker room. Tryouts for the 2016-2017 season will be held at the WCMS baseball field Friday May 20. Upcoming eighth graders tryouts will be from 5-6:30 p.m. and upcoming seventh graders from 7-9 p.m. Must bring pre-participation form.

Viola Valley Half Marathon
The 5th annual Viola Valley Half Marathon will be held May 21. The race will start at 7 a.m. and early packet pickup will be Friday, May 20, from 2-7 p.m. at the Viola Gazebo. Walkers are welcome. To register, go to Active.com. Visit violavalleymarathon.com for more information.

4TH ANNUAL GREENWAY 5K

The 4th annual Greenway 5K, hosted by Main Street McMinnville and Middle Tennessee Milers, will be  June 16. At 5:30 p.m. The event will take place at River Front Park. Registration fee is $25 with shirt and $15 without shirt. To register go to registertorun.com or call 931-743-2461.

SECURITY FEDERAL AND DR PEPPER TENNIS TOURNAMENTS

The Security Federal Tennis tournament will be held June 9-11 and the Dr Pepper tournament will be held Aug. 11-13. The tournaments will include A, B and C singles and doubles divisions and junior divisions, 14 and under and 12 and under. Registration fee for both tournaments is $15. SMARTT ASSEMBLY 3rd ANNUAL MUD FUN RUN

 Smartt Assembly’s 3rd annual mud fun run will be May 21 starting at 10 a.m. Ages 7-99 are welcome. Ages 7-12 cost $10 to register and 13-99 cost $15. The fundraiser helps kid ministries and community outreach ministries.
3RD ANNUAL MASONIC GOLF SCRAMBLE
The 3rd annual Masonic golf scramble will be held May 7 at Willowbrook golf course. Registration opens at 11 a.m. on the day of the scramble and is open to members and non-members. Registration fee is $80 per person, which includes a round of golf, cart, driving range balls, a gift bag and lunch. There will also be a $10,000 hole-in-one contest and a TV prize for closest to the hole. Contact Alan Lynn at 931-808-5171 for more information.
 LITTLE SQUIRTS LEARN AND PLAY IN THE GILLEY POOL
There will be an instructional class at the Gilley Pool 9 a.m. to teach children ages 1-5, on how to safely have fun in the water every Monday and Wednesday through June and July. The class will be taught by certified lifeguards and the price of the class is $4 for each day attended. To ensure the safety of the children participating, each class size is limited to 15 children. This is a first come first serve class.

ARROWHEAD JUNIOR AT THE BLUFFS
McMinnville junior golfers ages 11-18  are invited to compete in the Arrowhead Junior at The Bluffs at the The Bluffs on Thompson Creek, in St. Francisville, LA. June 1-2. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is ranked by the Junior Golf Scoreboard and hosted by the Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour. The tournament entry fee is $185 and includes two days of green fees, tee gifts, and Trophies in four age divisions. Recommended accommodations are available at The Lodge at the Bluffs, in St. Francisville, LA.
