Final Jaycee Basketball Signups
The final Jaycee basketball signups and draft will be at Bobby Ray Elementary School gym this Saturday, Oct. 8. Players must sign up by the following times: Girls 8-10 years old by 7:45 a.m.; Girls 11-13 by 9:30 a.m.; Boys 8 by 10:45 a.m.; Boys 9 by 11:45 a.m.; Boys 10-11 by 1:15 p.m.; Boys 12-14 by 2:45 p.m.; Girls 14-19 by 4:15 p.m. and Boys 15-18 by 5:15 p.m. Use Aug. 1, 2016 to determine player age. Halloween Hustle 5K and 1-mile walk
The Southern Standard presents its second annual Halloween Hustle 5K run and 1-mile walk on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 9 a.m. The certified course begins at the Blue Building, 215 W. Colville Street. Race fees: Pre-registration 5K (before Oct. 12): $20 (T-shirt included); Pre-registration 1-mile walk (before Oct. 12) $15 (T-shirt included); Pre-registration prices without T-shirt: $12 (runners), $7 (walkers). Rock Island 5-Miler
The 7th annual Rock Island 5 Miler will take place Oct. 8 at 11 a.m. Entry fee is $8, or $20 with an official race T-shirt (long sleeve). The last day for registration with T-shirt will be Oct. 3.
