Despite having a huge 5-run third inning, Namaste Medical Spa might have waited too long to get going Tuesday, as Southern Girls started with 5 runs in the first and again in the fifth for the 11-6 victory in McMinnville Youth League girls 10-12 play at McMinnville Civic Center.Crossing home for Southern Girls in their first at-bat were Ryleigh Rankin, Zoie Conner, Keely Sweeton, Regin Grissom and Paige Sweeton.Namaste’s Maggy Whiles scored in the bottom of the inning but Southern Girls Kora Forbes balanced that off in the second leaving Southern Girls the 5-1 lead. Both teams dug in with Namaste having the greater deficit to overcome as Hallie Lowe, Whiles, Hope Gilly, Laren Hinshaw and Brooklyn Wannamaker maxed out the third, with their 5 runs to take a 1-run lead, 6-5.It was the big rally in the bottom of the inning that cemented the win for Southern Girls with Keely Sweeton, Paige Sweeton, KiaAnn King, Isabella Pennington and Kara Deboard returning the favor for the victory.
