Holder Realty and Sina Neal faced off in game two of the night at Newtown ballpark as they both looked to advance in the adult league softball tournament. The game remained close in its entirety, until the Sina Neal bats exploded for 11 runs in the final two innings to come away with the 20-12 victory.Hozzy Marias led the way at the plate for Sina Neal in the victory, going 4-for-5 with two singles, a double and a triple. Brody Fernandez also had an impressive showing at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two singles and a double.Despite the loss, Coty Grissom led the charge at the plate for Holder Realty, going 3-for-3 with two walks.Sina Neal jumped out to a six-run lead in the top of the first inning as all six runs were scored thanks to six RBI singles, giving it the comfortable advantage, 6-0, heading into the bottom of the inning.Holder Realty failed to score in the bottom of the inning as it stranded two runners on base, keeping it a six-run ballgame after one.Sina Neal added three runs in the top of the second courtesy of two more RBI singles and a fielder’s choice by Holder Realty, 9-0.Holder Realty finally got on the board in the bottom of the inning thanks to RBI singles by Grissom, Tony Vaughn, Jordan Powers, Chris Hennessee and a fielder’s choice by Sina Neal to keep the game close, 9-5, after two.Sina Neal failed to score in the top half of the third and Holder Realty made it a two-run game in the bottom of the inning thanks to a 2-RBI double by Wesley Jordan, 9-7, after threeSina Neal got back on track in the top of the fourth, scoring eight runs to build a double-digit lead thanks to timely hitting, 17-7.Holder Realty didn’t go away in the bottom of the inning as it continued to battle back, making it a five-run deficit at the end offour, 17-12.After Sina Neal scored three runs in the top of the fifth and final inning to give it an eight-run advantage, 20-12, Holder Realty needed some runs in its last at-bat.Holder Realty failed to score in the bottom of the inning, giving Sina Neal the impressive victory and advancing it to the next round of the tournament.
