A day of up-and-down golf by the Lady Pioneer golf team has left the group far away from its dream of a state championship.Warren County finished the first day of the state golf tournament in fourth place at plus-11, far behind current leader Rossview. The Lady Hawks are threatening to run away from the rest of the eight-team field after finishing the first day at 1-under, led by Reagan Greene’s 4-under performance at Willowbrook Golf Course.Warren County’s team score of 155 was made up by sophomore Hannah Powell’s 4-over, 76 and Brittany Myers shooting a 7-over, 79. Junior Saylem Powell finished with an 85.Coach J.W. Holt believes his girls can post a score Wednesday, when the second round is played, that could potentially erase the big deficit.“Rossview is going to be tough to catch up to at this point.
