Monday's thunderstorms have made Wednesday a busy day for local sports. Three doubleheaders will be played locally Wednesday as teams scramble to make up games.

The Warren County High School baseball team will play two pivotal District 6AAA games at home against Cookeville. The Pioneers and Cavaliers, the top two teams in the district a season ago, will square off at Patrick Ramsey Field at 5 p.m. The second game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.

The Pioneers enter the game 2-0 in district play, while Cookeville sports a 3-1 record.

On the WCHS softball field, the Warren County Middle School Lady Pioneers will try to continue their hot streak. Winners of four straight, and 11 of their past 13 games, the Lady Pioneers will face White County in a pair of CTC games. Action will begin at 5 p.m.

The WCMS baseball team will play a doubleheader against White County as well. Action at WCMS will begin at 4 p.m. The Pioneers will follow with eighth-grade night Thursday against Cannon County.
