Finding a reason to celebrate was easy for the WCHS tennis team Tuesday at home. The Lady Pioneers and Pioneers were honoring seniors and claiming local bragging rights at the same time.

The WCHS girls beat Boyd 6-0 in a matchup between the local high schools, while the Pioneers topped the Broncos 7-2. Along the way, Warren County's five seniors also got involved in the victory.

Mitchell Caten, Wilder Higgins, Brence Moore, Marissa O'Hara and Caroline Stewart all lent a helping hand to their teams to pile up an impressive victory against the Broncos.

Caten and Higgins were each responsible for two wins for the Pioneers. Caten won his singles match against Clay Akers 8-3 and teamed with Drew Peterson to beat Akers and Connor Andrews 8-1 in doubles. Higgins defeated Eli Vassar 8-1 in singles and won 8-4 in doubles with Dylan Walker (beating Gavin Terry and Jaxon Grissom).

O'Hara, who joined the WCHS tennis program this year, had an 8-1 win over Raylee Vinson in the Lady Pioneers' sweep over the Lady Broncos. Stewart was a two-time winner Tuesday, winning in singles 8-1 and joining forces with Susanna Netherton to win in doubles 8-0 over Vinson and Brit Ralph.

Drew Peterson, Joshua Caten, Brett Peterson, Rachel Jackson and London Caten also had wins for Warren County as the Pioneers and Lady Pioneers completed a sweep over Boyd this season.

Boyd's lone wins came from Bryant Ralph and Kaden Jones in singles.
