Hailey Childress found a groove at the plate Monday to help Security Federal deposit a victory.
Childress homered twice, including an inside-the-park grand slam, to help her squad defeat Edward Jones-Dan Sellers 16-8 in the girls 10-14 league.
Childress bashed her first inside-the-park shot in the top of the first. Her second shot put the game away.
Childress came up with the bases loaded in the second inning and crushed a shot into right field, allowing three teammates to score and her to circle the bases for a grand slam. The homer capped an eight-run outburst, building a 10-2 lead.
Ryleigh Rankin took care of the rest. Rankin picked up the victory, striking out six while allowing just one hit.
Lola Wells finished with three singles for Security Federal, while Rankin, Jenna Mullins, Kaydence Tanner and Gracie Gilley added one hit each.
Ebonie Ross had the lone hit for Edward Jones.
