You can catch fish and some cash next month with the return of the Covenant Academy fishing tournament.
Covenant is holding its seventh annual tournament April 23 at Ragland Bottom at Center Hill Lake. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 12 places where first place will receive $2,000. All you need is a boat and two boaters.
Door prizes will be available for attendees, and there will be a big fish pot at the end of the day. Visit Covenant Academy’s Facebook page to register online or email fishing@covenantacademylions.com. Turn in your entry forms to Covenant Academy by mail or in person.
“We are still seeking sponsorship. This is one of our big annual fundraisers that Covenant Academy depends on for general expenses that come up throughout the year,” said organizer Tina Lassiter, “We typically have over 40 boats in the tournament and our fishermen return to fish with us each year. It’s a great time for all.”
The event will be held Saturday, April 23 and start at 7 a.m. All waivers and forms must be signed before the start of the tournament. The early bird entry fee is $120 for those who register by April 8.
Any entry after then will be $140.
The event is sponsored by Reddick Brown Ford and Ascension Saint Thomas River Park. Contact Lassiter at (931) 808-2379 with any questions about the event.
