Coach Donnie Harris doesn’t want to wait any longer to begin his first season with the Warren County Middle School football team. Fortunately for Harris, the wait is almost over.Coach Harris and the Pioneers will hit the field next week for four workouts that will serve as the start of the football season and the beginning of the second Harris era at WCMS.With TSSAA rules permitting workouts in helmets and shoulder pads before the official start of practice Monday, July 29, Harris will take the Pioneers on the WCMS practice field Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 4-5:30 p.m. Harris has waited all summer to get started as the head coach at WCMS, a job his father Bill Harris held seven seasons ago. Harris was named the head coach of the Pioneers in May after Adam Wood resigned following one season as head coach at WCMS.Harris held spring practice and has overseen offseason conditioning during the summer.
